Welcome to the internet home of the Greater Cincinnati
Firefighters Hockey Club, the only hockey team in the Metro Cincinnati area that
is comprised of professional Firefighters, Paramedics, Police Officers and other
health care and emergency service professionals.
The GCFFHC was founded in March of 2004 by the Club
President, Shayne K. Schnell. The club was formerly known as the Northern
Kentucky Firefighters Hockey Team because most of the members worked for
Northern Kentucky Fire Departments, but in March of 2005 the name was changed to
the current name to reflect the make up of our club.
Currently the GCFFHC outfits 3 teams of varying skill
levels that compete in the local men's leagues and travel to compete in several
charity tournaments across the United States and Canada. Our club has
participated in tournaments for various charities in Orlando, Florida, Columbus,
Ohio, Fort Wayne, Indiana and we even host our own tournament every August.
In 2008, the GCFFHC expanded it's club membership to
include a squirt level youth select (travel) hockey team that is comprised of
local youth ages 7-10. The purpose of the Greater Cincinnati Jr. Fire
Hockey Team is to develop an elite youth hockey team built on the same
principles as that of their adult counterpart. The Jr. Fire shall promote
the sport of ice hockey and continue to grow as a team year to year through
charity work and game play.
Our club members represent over 2 dozen communities in both
Northern Kentucky and South West Ohio (Cincinnati's Metro area).

Our members are from as far north as Dayton, Ohio to as far
south as Florence, Kentucky.
